Chase Underwood and Zeam Porter,
TRUTH: Trans Youth Zine Workshop

A zine is a handmade or online publication that is typically non commercial and is created using any media of art. It typically tells a story, shows images, promotes an idea, and can be specialized or niche (i.e. fan zines). Zines are known for being an accessible art form that promotes and brings community together. This workshop hosted by trans artists will allow participants the opportunity to create their own zine with instructions and hands-on help with an emphasis on trans inclusivity and community. Please join us and create the radical art and representation you wish to see in the world!

+++++

Chase Underwood is a queer and trans artist in the Twin Cities who attends the University of Minnesota. His art typically involves the practice of zine making, which he believes is a healing, anti-capitalistic, and radical art form that can be therapeutic.

Zeam Porter is a gender nihilist who uses art to dismantle the gender binary. As a Black and trans artist and activist, Porter believes the best way to fight for liberation is through zines, poems and films. A Macalester student, Porter works with organizations like MTHC to put QTPOC voices front and center.
