Matthew Ramirez and Breezy Callens,
SPOKEn Word – Cycles Speak

Cycling is an accessible and affordable way to get around the Twin Cities. You don’t need to have a license to bike, you don’t need a ton of money, you don’t need a ton of maintenance, much storage space, nor a ton of upkeep for a bike.

As people, we all need to get places. We recognize that means sometimes not everyone can afford a car, or enough time to take the bus or walking, or perhaps people want to commit to working out more often but don’t have the time or money to have a workout schedule.

We want to have everyone feel comfortable and safe on our streets. We want everyone to see cycling as a viable and reliable form of transportation that is good for our streets, our city, our environment, our world, and our bodies.

Join us in this interactive poetry artwork while learning about bicycles and other cycles from the 19th Century to the 21st Century.

Witness how our paths cross, intersect, repeat, and cycle as we all traverse these cities going to work, seeing family, hanging out with friends, and simply enjoying being outside – through the power of SPOKEn word poetry.
